On location at Dame Edna Walker reserve, the amazingly talented Amanda Lim was our photographer on the day. I was really excited as I love her work, it always has an element of feminine softness and beauty. Greta was working it as our model and I teamed up again with Mandy Kingsman and Vanessa Collins

FLASHBACK SHOOT

Posted: under Uncategorized.

I love perspex. Fullstop. I had this idea of Pandora’s Box with a black widow element. A story of this woman trapped in her perspex cell, condemned yet yearning for freedom. A photographer suggested the sandunes as a point of difference, unfortunately he was off to shoot in NY. I still thought the sanddunes were amazing so I went to do a recky at Kurnell. What a bloody hike!

DESERT SIREN

Posted: under Uncategorized.

The preproduction for this shoot was crazy. Paul and I worked on the story sequence weeks in advance. There was permission from Australand to organise, confirmation of power for hair, ute.. yes ute rentals to hire, drivers (cos I dont drive..YET), catering for 12-15 crew members, sets to build, tents to buy for a base command plus so many bits and bobs. Oh almost forgot - needed to fit in the styling as well somehow too!

HANDYMAN ME

Posted: under Uncategorized.

Have you ever thought you've bitten off more than you can chew? These sets almost did me in, did I mention POWER TOOLS were involved? Off to bunnings I went, back to bunnings I went, a 3rd return to bunnings I went. Sure I took woodshop at school but it didnt prepare me at all for this. Lest to say the frame were made..yay... I felt totaly triumphant over some silly planks of woods. The sun was a scorcher and started to warp the perspex - gaffer tape to the rescue!!! Here you see hairstylist Peta Pellangrini touching up against the sandstorm winds.

THE INBETWEEN TIME

Posted: under Uncategorized.

Madelein Kragh (IMG New York) chillin’ while we change set positions. It seriously felt like we were in the desert. It was hideously dry and hot. By the end of the day I was an attractive shade of lobster red.

Make up maestro Dave Reid doing the last change. He is TRULY gifted. I feel he has the same creative exuberance as Pat Mcgrath. On par with the international headliners.
