THE GOLDEN AGE

Markus Lambert is AMAZINGLY TALENTED. Fullstop. He is on the road to sparkling brilliance. I was super excited to have the opportunity to work with someone of his calibre, the way he approaches photography and the angle he uses is something to be admired. He is super nice to boot!

Shutterbug in motion

The moment reminded me of the drama in an old love affair movie. Alex Cunha is striking but his gift is being able to project so bloody well.

BRIGHT SPARK

Posted: under Uncategorized.

The fashion industry is tight knit, EVERYWHERE. I thought the best way to get a feel for the French scene was to approach agencies to either get feedback on my portfolio, test with new talent or assist the stylists on their books. I was quite nervous but straight off I hit the jackpot. I was hired to assist Bristish stylist Tamara Cincik (She is so on point, its nothing but inspiring!) on the next campaign for the French brand Make Up Forever. I crashed and burned on MOST of my other attempts with the agencies but it didnt matter I had this window of opportunity. Now the work of an assistant isn't glamourous, I was well aware I would be doing the schlepping, steaming, unpacking, repacking, dressing, lunch runs ..... but I did not care I was ready to work my ass off. I had a birdseye view of how the French productions run. The team were really big compared to Australia with a lot of input from everyone. It was a great ambiance, bright creatives rockin' their thing, sometimes I love my job although I would drop dead on my feet each night. I can't wait to see the final images. Oh and best of all everyone spoke english, spanish or french. So much better than coming across with the conversation capacity of a 3yr old.

PALATIAL CONDITIONS

Just one of the racks of clothing on the 2nd day of shooting. It was in a proper studio unlike the previous day where we shot in a hip nightclub. Sets were built in the studio but I was busy steaming. The life of an assistant is never done! I was there to make things easier for Tamara so I always had to be checking up that all was ready for her, seeing how they were moving onset so I was ready to prep the next options.

I had the luxury of having a separate room with tables to set up. Sometimes you have to set up camp whereever you can and work it the best you can. It really helps having space just so you can track everything. Here are just a few accessories albeit a little blurry.

LA BELLE NOIRE

How super sleek is this wig? I've always dreamed of that chic blunt cut but alas I have curly locks. I was tidying my cubby hole style room and when I saw this black hairy creature on the floor, I didn't want to panic so I sucked it up and shoved the thing to discover it was the model's wig...hahaha. I borrowed it for a few self portraits. I died my hair black after this shoot.

ENVY

It's like a candy store of flavours. The amount of product there that day was crazy - oodles and oodles in bursts of colour.

I'll take one of everything!

OH LA LA

Posted: under Uncategorized.

I decided to go to Paris for a couple of months to get my luggage out of storage but that was really just an excuse. I wanted to see what opportunities I could find as a fashion stylist so I was really eager to shoot. I hooked up with fellow Aussie Loc Boyle who has a really strong eye on mens photography, always a little raw. This was a mini shoot just to get the juices flowing. We decided to shoot outside before it started to get cold, right by the seine, possibly a little typical but different for my own book.

This shot was the last of the day - a last minute extra but turned out to be my favourite. Loc decided to keep it in black and white - so perfect!

Getting onset feedback is vital to see what works and sometimes what doesn't
