I was approached by photographer Chrissie Hall to do a shoot in an airplane graveyard for SVA Magazine. We had a pull letter and everything so I really wanted to pull out the stops! The concept was to do high fashion amped up 80s trolley dolly in a plane crash- very Lavazza coffee advert like. In the end it wasnt picked up by SVA but I was still happy with my styling. I was really under the pump - 8 looks and I had less than a week to source everything on top of existing commitments. In the process I discovered Miliner Jessica Beattie (www.jessicabeattie.com.au) - we were FB mates already..lol.. She whipped up the AMAZING headpieces and was totally feeling my creative flow. These to me were la piece de resistance! Keep an eye out for her.

Now who doesnt just drool over the relaxed cool of Acne? This dress looks a bit like a blueberry mumu but once on, the cut drapes so perfectly - swoon - check it out in post below.

Since I didnt have a fit model on standby - laying out looks in my bathroom works just as well. How nice and neat does it look huh?

Charly Brown was our model and Chrissie's muse. She really is Rock N Roll. Here she is getting her face on! We wanted to push the extreme of the 80s make up but I wasnt a fan of the green tone. By the time we arrived 30 mins late (um... we got way lost trying to get into the airport, we almost ended up in the middle of the flight path runway but thats another story) it was already done and considering the type of product used against the time we had available I chose to pick my battles. Hindsights a bitch isnt it?

I LOVED this look - aero fabulousness. How uber cool would it be to have a vibrant fashion forward airline with hot hosties a la Fifth Element movie

I think Charly markes an awesome hostie.

Super 8 - taking it back. Chrissie also studied film and wanted to shoot a short film of the day. I heard it was just edited so cant wait to see it.

I saw this and had a good laugh. As suggestive as it appears, I was checking the zipper alignment with the belt. Sometimes you do need to get up close and personal.

Well hello there. Seriously the winds were playing havoc with my coiff. Touch up please!!!

Peek - a - boo. I love how this shot is just a little saucy.

Muaw.....just one for the girls!!!

This is my cousin and best friend Vanessa "Butterfly" Espinosa Cofre. Yes a mouthful I know! She is the creative director behind accessories label Atiara, but moonlights as my fashion producer/assistant when she is free. Butterfly is my sounding board and anticipates what I need. The value of a good assistant is priceless - it lets me focus on solely styling when onset. It was definitely a luxury to have her with me.

I had been in Paris for a few months and was going to spend 2 weeks in Chile over Christmas with my mum and family. Soooooooo...... I really wanted to do more shoots. Before I left I was crazy busy sourcing photographers in Chile but didnt have much luck until I came across Simon Pais. After a few emails we met up in Santiago and I pitched a few of my concepts which I had prepared based on the clothes I already had sent to me. We decided on the dramatic black/white/silver palette shoot very End of Days in the setting of the Chilean Andes. Through his network we linked up with a Canadian art direction crew for Zink Magazine, they tweeked the story to give it a more black swan vibe and we were off, it came together in under a week. I havent seen the final shots and not sure if I will since its been almost a year (I do admit I havent followed this up though) but this had such promise despite the mad time rush. Final word - how AMAZING is this back drop?

Make up in action! We were lucky Simon had a fantastic producer that let us set up at his place. It was a big crew with a mini bus and everything since it was a few hours out of Santiago. Unfortunately we didnt keep track of prep time and by the time we got there it was like 3.30pm. We had to go extra slow over the rocks in the mountains. Crazy I tellya. The time pressure definitely made things frantic. Note to self: make sure I am keeping track of time and looks too. You live - you learn right?

Simon Pais was the photographer, he is now based in Mexico but I was lucky he was in Chile over the Christmas holidays. He has a great energy about him and was only 1 of 2 photographers I found in Chile that would do fashion photography on an international standard. He was amazingly quick considering the fading sun too.

How crazy is this? I love her being this minute detail in the vast landscape.

Talk about extreme modelling! Our model had to climb down into this mountain pit of rocks, she was lovely and no complaints about the work out (forgive my lack of names..how rude I know)

This was my chance. I found a super photographer, had 2x magazines interested, found a location and now needed the clothes. Let me say it was not like my previous experience with le monde de la mode here. The PR companies were a mixed bag of lollies - some nice, some not so nice. The amount of calls and emails I pumped out/followed up to even get an appointment was at times disheartening. But I was so close - I knew this shoot would be magic. Yes Id love to pull from Lanvin, Chanel, all the greats but Im still working my way up the hierarchy. They obviously didnt get the memo of who I am ...hmph... Just think outside the box. Identify your roadblocks then you can navigate around them. As a back up plan I had George El Sissa pieces flown in from Australia. Crazy and $ extravagant but best to prepared. Oh to get this purple gorgeous kimono from NY - I ventured into the barren industrial wasteland ghetto of northern paris to pay the tax duties and pick up my parcel all by public transport. What Id do for love and fashion!

My very own Sun King mini Versailles !!! Bienvenue à L'Hotel. Just bask in the glow

The space was just 15m sq. Tiny really so there was like an explosion of stuff. It would have been ideal to prep in another room but this was a hush operation and I have booked the room for 2 nights already which already stretched my budget. I went back and forth with the hotel which was a challenge as they kept saying it was too small, I admit they had a point but were reluctant to offer an alternative solution. Thats Paris though. C'est La Vie.
